Amidst the rubble
The cross of Christ still stands strong
A symbol of hope
The concrete crumbled
The steel beams melted and fell
But still, Life goes on
Our things are destroyed
Turned to rubble on the street
But still, Life goes on
So much death we’ve seen
Yet memories linger on
Of Love imparted
Families and friends mourn
Loved ones now gone from this place
But Love lingers on
Men…who now wield fate
Give them wisdom from above
Impart Life and Love
Musings, meditations, and poems speaking to concerns, challenges, and celebrations of the Christian Life

"A Child Living in Iraq"
I live in a place where war occurs;
Killing seems normal to me.
I live in a place where people fight;
Hatred seems normal to me.
I live in a place where people are killed;
Death seems normal to me.
I live in a place that’s bombed and burnt;
Ugly seems normal to me.
I live in a place where children die;
Hopelessness seems normal to me.
I live in a place some say doesn’t exist;
But hell seems normal to me.
Killing seems normal to me.
I live in a place where people fight;
Hatred seems normal to me.
I live in a place where people are killed;
Death seems normal to me.
I live in a place that’s bombed and burnt;
Ugly seems normal to me.
I live in a place where children die;
Hopelessness seems normal to me.
I live in a place some say doesn’t exist;
But hell seems normal to me.
