IX. HOW SHOULD I THEN LIVE?

Being childlike is not being childish, immature, or irresponsible.  It is being in a state that knows there is always more to grow and learn.  This life’s journey is just that….a journey, not a destination.  I seek, I find; but then I see something else out there to move towards.  Being childlike is seeing life as an adventure; always moving and finding at the end of one thing a beginning of another.

I am glad that I am not perfect.  I am glad I don’t know all there is to know.  Where would the fun be in that?  I am glad I mess up at times and have to find my way out of the mess.  It keeps life interesting and alive.  It keeps life from being boring.  Every moment counts because I never know what is coming next.  I am a planner but I always leave space for the unexpected.  I try to walk in integrity but I always leave space for inspiration to make an appearance.

Life in the Spirit is safe and secure, but not predictable.  “The wind blows where it wishes, and your hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes.  So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit” (John 3:8).  Life in the Spirit is free but it isn’t random or chaotic; just free.

It’s a human characteristic to order and label things; to put things in a box or a reasonable form.  Life is not like that.  There is order and form but it is free to grow and be transformed, not static and stale.  Life is the breath of God moving over His creation.  It is His Spirit moving within His creation.  It is mysterious, full of wonder, and full of awe; it is unable to be captured, explained, or understood.  It is simply to be received, believed in, and lived out.  This is how I should then live.
