WORDLESS WITNESS

The more I live in God’s Presence the anxt of life fades away.  The more I am with God and with His Word, the easier it is to navigate through this life.  It is no longer about me and mine; it is truly all about God and His.  There is a gentle flow I find myself moving in, a gentle flow that I have come to trust as the Spirit of God lives in me and leads me.  It is all that the Scriptures say it is.  “Like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season.”   The worrying and trying to discern my path seems to fade away as I move forward into all He wills for me.

I continue to be in awe of the simplicity of God’s love and provision for me.  This is what the world is missing and so desperately needs to hear and understand.  Words don’t work any more.  There are too many conflicting voices being heard today.  This is why Jesus calls believers to BE light.  Words don’t overcome darkness; light does.  But even light can’t be effective if people choose to remain blind.

Something in the blind man, that Jesus healed, made him ask Jesus for his sight to be returned.  What was that?  Perhaps he felt the light of His Presence as He was walking past him.  What does that tell me?  Somehow bringing God’s Presence into the lives of those we encounter throughout our day will stir something up in them.  Something beyond words will move them to want to seek God.  God’s Presence is powerful and can transform a life when that life comes in contact with IT.

My brother used to work in a Deli and his job was making Submarine sandwiches.  When he came home from work the aroma of those sandwiches permeated the house.  Our dog went nuts and our mouths began to drool and made us all hungry.  It triggered something in us.

I think that is what being the light of the world means.  It has nothing to do with me.  It has to do with me being in God’s Presence and having others become hungry and aware of that Presence and causing them to seek it out for themselves; a witness above and beyond words.
