It is so easy to get distracted
So many things biding for my attention
The cares of the world
The conflict with friends
The busyness of life
The work to be done
It is so easy to get distracted.
But what do those distractions give me
In return for my time and attention
Nothing that soothes my soul
Nothing that edified my mind
Nothing that helps me live this life
They come and they go
But what do these distractions give me?
My mind is set on Thee O Lord
And on all the things you have done
The love You so freely give
The joy You so freely give
The peace You so freely give
Everything that helps me live this life
My mind is set on Thee O Lord
Only Thee.
