John 3:16
It always begins
with God’s love for His creation, for His people. Jesus came into a world hostile to God. But he loved this world enough to empty
himself, making himself nothing, taking the form of a servant so that he was as
we were in every way. While we were yet
hostile to God, Jesus died to reconcile us to our rightful place of priests to
God the Father. He taught people to obey
God and become a kingdom on earth that would mirror and reflect the Kingdom of God that is eternal, in the heavenlies,
where God awaits our return home when Jesus once again will come to earth and
take us unto himself.
It always begins
with love to all. That is the pattern we
received from God and from Jesus. Love
is the root of all we are to do. If it
isn’t then the fruit will not develop as it should. When we love God, when we love Jesus, we will
love one another and our works will be worthy.
If we lose that love or it fades away from neglect or gets buried under
the busyness of the work, then our works are not worthy of His praise and
glory. What is done in the flesh will
fade; what is done in the Spirit will shine forth and reflect God to the world.
